1. Candles always create a great atmosphere, especially at Christmas when you can create a wonderful display. Use white candles of various sizes, place them on a wooden or glass surface, and decorate them by putting a festive wreath around them, some red ribbon, various spices such as cinnamon sticks, Christmas balls, etc.

2.  Another great idea is to place Christmas lights around the house to add a festive touch!  A row along the fireplace, over the piano or even inside a large clear vase are all great ideas!

3. Throw some red and green throws or blankets – be they plain, striped or plaid - over a couch to create a festive corner.

4. During these wintery days, the fireplace takes center place! Collect some wood and stack nicely in the corner, place some candles on the mantel along with a transparent jar filled with the chestnuts. The perfect winter backdrop for Christmas!

5. If you have leftover Christmas tree ball decorations, collect them and string them together with a ribbon and hang on the wall like a large Christmas ornament.

6. Put some pine cones (with the tips spray painted in gold or silver) in a large bowl.

7. Use transparent jars (e.g. jam), fill halfway with polystyrene, drop in a few gold stars and put a candle in the center! Place these jars in any corners of the house or if using jars of different sizes, put 2-3 together in the center of a table.

8.  Decorate your cake platter not only with cake, but with Christmas decorations like Christmas balls, add some red ribbon, and place in a corner of the living room.
