Caramelized Pork Steaks

Ingredients:
2 kilos thick pork steaks or 2 kilos pork breast slices

For the Marinade:
5 cloves garlic, finely chopped
½ cup soy sauce
5 tbsp sugar
2 tbsp honey
1 tbsp olive oil or sesame oil
1 tsp ginger powder
zest of 1 orange
salt & pepper

Directions:
Put all marinade ingredients into a large bowl. Stir vigorously with a wooden spoon. Place the pork steaks into a baking dish and pour the marinade on top. Mix well. Cover the baking dish with plastic wrap and refrigerate overnight or for 8 hours, turning the steaks every 3 hours. Remove steaks from the refrigerator and allow to return to room temperature before cooking, (about 30΄-45΄). Be sure to baste during the cooking process.
