Summer is almost here – a great time to detox! How? It’s so easy!

Enrich your water with flavorsome and nutritious fresh fruits and vegetables to help you feel more healthy and energized!

Here are 5 awesome detox water combinations!

Watermelon-Cucumber-Mint

The combination of watermelon and mint is very refreshing! Watermelon is an excellent diuretic that is great for eliminating toxins from the body.  For those of you who exercise, according to surveys, watermelon has also been found to reduce muscle soreness! Combined with cucumber which is rich in vitamins C and K, and the freshness of mint, this mix of ingredients makes for an especially refreshing, nourishing and detoxing water drink.

Place approximately 7 cubes of watermelon, 5 slices of cucumber and 2 sprigs of fresh mint into a large glass carafe.  Fill with water and leave in the fridge for a minimum of one hour or overnight for an intensity of flavor. Add some ice cubes and enjoy!

Kiwi-Cucumber

This refreshing water contains a very powerful super-hero of a fruit: the kiwi. It has been shown that this fruit can reduce bloating and constipation and simultaneously enhance the immune system due to the large amounts of Vitamin C that it contains. And with cucumber being high in vitamins C and K – double whammy!

Slice up two kiwis and two cumbers and place in a large glass carafe. Add your water and refrigerate overnight. Enjoy with some ice cubes!

Lemon-Celery-Cucumber

Let me tell you a secret! Adding celery to any detox water works wonders! Containing only 6 calories per stick, high water content (about 95%) and full of vitamins A, C B, folic acid and potassium, celery also reduces water retention and helps to rebuild muscle - extremely beneficial if you exercise regularly.

Place a stick of celery cut into 3 pieces, 4/5 sliced cucumber and a lemon cut into quarters into a large glass jar and fill with water. Put the jug in the fridge, cover and let it sit overnight. Serve with plenty of ice!

Banana- Lemon- Mango-Tomato

An unusual combination to say the least! And yet the flavors blend beautifully!  Most importantly however, is that this drink has a great mix of nutrients. Bananas are filled prebiotic fibers which nourish the good bacteria in the stomach and improve digestion. The lemon detoxifies the body, mango is full of vitamin C and tomatoes have powerful antioxidants to fight against cancer.

Into a large glass container place a large sliced banana,  a lemon cut into quarters, some mango slices and a large tomato chopped into quarters or 4 cherry tomatoes cut in half. Fill the jar with water, seal it and place in the refrigerator for several hours. Serve with plenty of ice!

Lime-Chia Seeds

Chia seeds are regarded as a power food by many.  Being that these seeds can absorb up to 10 times their weight in water gives them great satiating properties (making you feel full) which could aid with weight loss.  Lime on the other hand is a classic detox ingredient!

Fill a glass jar about 1 10th of the way with chia seeds and add a lime cut into quarters. Fill with water, put into the fridge for a few hours and enjoy with some ice cubes!
