Organic coconut oil is now the must-have beauty product for women. It is full of vitamin E and fatty acids, which are antifungal, antioxidant and antibacterial, all that is best for skin and hair care. And since the organic kind – especially – of coconut oil, does not contain even a trace of chemicals, it could also be used in various ways in the daily lives of young children. So, let us see the ways we can use it on our baby's soft skin!
 
1. Massage
The next time you have some time to give your baby a massage, instead of using another kind of oil or lotion, use coconut oil. It is beneficial for the skin and assists in its hydration.
 
2. Hair
A small amount of coconut oil is an excellent emollient that will unravel your child's unruly and tangled hair. Especially for children with curly hair!
 
3. Cradle cap
Sometimes babies face the skin problem known as ‘cradle cap’ which appears on the scalp. Apply coconut oil to the baby's head one hour before shampooing, cover it with a shower cap and leave it to act beneficially. Then, comb with a bristle baby brush.
 
4. Meconium
Meconium, the first stool of the newborn infant is difficult to clean. Apply a little coconut oil to a wad of cotton wool and clean the area with ease. It's that simple!
 
5. Chafing
Apply coconut oil to the area where the skin is sore, instead of cream for the chafing, and watch the skin irritation disappear. It also helps in the fight against candidiasis, the skin rash caused by the candida fungus, which an infant can develop.
 
6. Baby acne
You can apply coconut oil locally on the spots where your baby develops acne to restrict it.
 
7. Eczema
If your little one develops eczema, try coconut oil to treat it. Its anti-inflammatory activity will relieve the irritation and help to combat it.
 
8. Lice
When used alone or in combination with cider vinegar, it is a harmless, chemical-free method of exterminating lice.
 
9. Bath oil
A few drops in the baby's bath will immediately moisturise its skin.
 
10. Mosquito bites
As the weather becomes warmer, various insects begin to sting our babies. Rubbing the area with coconut oil relieves the itching.
 
11. Skin problems
Besides eczema, coconut oil relieves skin problems such as psoriasis and dermatitis.
