As the third Sunday of June is Father’s Day, here are some ideas to help you spend a great time with dad on that day!
As it is summer, why don’t you spend a day by the sea? Casting a line with the kids is a classic so all you have to do is you go to a sports & fishing store, buy your fishing rods and accessories, pack lunch, and wake up early to spend a quality time together. And you never know, you might get lucky and catch some fish!
2. Visit a historic site
If your father is a history buff, visiting a history museum, war memorial, or other historic site in your area will probably fulfill his Father's Day wishes. Pack his favorite sandwiches and snacks, and enjoy a picnic afterwards!
3. Go for a bike ride
There are numerous cycling paths not only in the city but in the countryside too. That’s a great way to spend with your dad on Father’s Day. If you are an amateur, you can ride together across Pediaios River in Nicosia, along Phinikoudes in Larnaca, Molos in Limassol and downtown by the Harbour in Paphos. On the other hand, if you and dad own off road bikes, you can spend a whole day, riding along the Cyprus Cycling Routes mentioned in www.visitcyprus.com.
4. Build Something
Does Dad spend his free time in the garage or woodshop? You can build together a bench to sit outside in the garden, a nice birdhouse and so on. If the kids are too young to use tools, break out the paintbrushes for them to decorate whatever Dad creates.
5. Take a Hike
If he's like most dads, he probably loves the great outdoors. Find a local hiking or walking trail that the entire family will enjoy. Look for trail reviews at www.visitcyprus.com to make sure it's suitable for younger children so that Dad doesn't end up carrying them on his back!
6. Have a Movie Night
On the other hand, you can just stay home and chill! Order or make Dad's favorite pizza and turn on a family-friendly flick that he'll love. It's the perfect ending to a fantastic Father's Day.
