Bags under your eyes? Bid them adieu!

09 июль 2015
Starting to look like a panda bear? Then check out these little secrets which will help you get rid of that loathsome and telltale sign of ageing, that is, the dreaded eye bag!

Yes, growing old is a hard reality to face. Time is your face’s worst enemy, and those bags under your eyes are proof of that! As the years pass, the tissues and muscles under the eye area deteriorate and the fat slowly falls, creating this less than desirable phenomenon. But cheer up, because crows’ feet can be charming, and we’ve got 9 tricks you can use to help keep those bothersome bags at bay.

1. Protect your eyes from the sun! Wear sunscreen on your face and high quality sunglasses with polarized lenses.

2. Use eye cream which contains retinol.

3. Never, ever, EVER go to sleep with your make-up on! Always remove all make-up and wash your face with soap and water before bed.

4. Allergies usually bring on puffy eyes. Be sure to check with your doctor if you have allergies, for ways to keep them under control and thus reduce the swelling.

5. Due to gravity, sleeping on your side can cause the liquid under your eyes to fall towards the earth. This can increase the look of bagginess under the eye. Try sleeping on your back or using a thicker pillow or two.

6. Limit alcohol consumption. Alcohol causes dehydration and can cause your skin to look thin and loose, especially that already thin skin under your eyes. If you accidentally drink too much, drink lots of water to flush out your system. A good rule to follow is to drink one glass of water for every alcoholic drink you consume.

7. Stop smoking! Not like you really need another reason to stop, but smoking dries out and weakens eye tissue.

8. Reduce salt consumption.

9. Rest and rejuvenate your eyes with chilled eye masks, cucumber slices or tea bags.
