How to make your own infused water…for a refreshingly nutritious summer!

There’s nothing better than a glass of cold water on those hot, summer days. But who says that this water can’t be… infused with a little extra flavor kick?

Infused water is the easiest way to hydrate, detox and rejuvenate your body. Its great taste, next to nothing calories and easy prep, are just a few of the reasons it has quickly become one of the most popular trends of the year.
 
Anyone can make it:
 
All you have to do is add your favourite fruit, veg and herbs to some water, in a glass container with a sealable top, and refrigerate it for at least 4 hours. The combination possibilities are countless. Find a few simple staple recipe ideas below and get inspired to make your own!
 
o Water with strawberries and basil: 4-5 strawberries cut in small pieces, a few finely chopped basil leaves, ½ lemon or lime cut in slices
o Water with apple and cinnamon: 2.5 green apples cut in thin slices, 4 cinnamon sticks
o Water with orange and mint: 1 orange cut in slices, ½ lemon or lime cut in slices, 1 small cucumber cut in slices, a few finely chopped spearmint leaves
o Water with cucumber and pepper: ½ cucumber, 1 medium red pepper, ½ tsp pink pepper, 1 rosemary spring
o Water with mint and citrus fruit: 6 fresh spearmint leaves, 1 peeled and cut tangerine, ½ orange, ½ sweet lemon
o Water with pear and pomegranate: ½ pear, ¼ cup of peeled pomegranate
 
*Mix the ingredients mentioned in the recipes above with 1 litre of water
 
Your infusion can be kept in the fridge for 1-2 days up to one week, depending on the ingredients. If you want to keep it for a longer period of time, you can blend the ingredients together, store the mixture in ice cube trays and add them to your bottle of water whenever you want to.
