Quinoa-Bulgur Wheat Porridge with honey and almonds!

 

Everyone deserves a day of relaxation, but especially, our Moms. And what a better way to start their day of pampering than with breakfast in bed!  Most Moms eat healthy, so we have just the breakfast for Mom- our homemade, Quinoa-Bulgur Wheat Porridge! Here’s what you will need:

 

Ingredients:

½ cup of Quinoa-Bulgur wheat mix

1 cup of water

1 cup of milk

1/4 tsp of salt

2 tbsp of honey

1 handful of almonds

1/2 cup fresh blueberries

 

Directions:

In a medium saucepan, combine your milk, quinoa-bulgur mix, salt, and water together. Bring them to a boil, and then reduce your heat to a medium flame and allow the mix to simmer.

 

For about 10-15 minutes, keep stirring the mix together, and check frequently on it until the Quinoa-bulgur mix is soft, or with a similar texture to oatmeal. 

 

While the mix is simmering, prepare your blueberry and almond topping, by cleaning and drying your fresh blueberries, and blanching and halving your almonds for the ideal topping.

 

Once your mixture has reached that oatmeal consistency, you have made porridge! Turn off the flame, and scoop your porridge out evenly into two separate bowls.

 

Next, take your halved almonds and fresh blueberries, and sprinkle them evenly into both bowls of porridge.

 

Lastly, take a tablespoon of honey for each bowl and drizzle it on top of your porridge. You are now ready to surprise Mom with her delicious Breakfast in bed!
